The Vanek goal might have been stoppable but was fired from the dot, which is an area where he's scored quite a few goals over the years. One of those games where the goalie's stats end up looking ugly but was more on the team in front of him either making miscues or getting outworked.

I was at the game yesterday and I said the same thing to my friend. Hart didn’t make his usual spectacular saves we are used to seeing but 4 of the goals were legit almost impossible to stop.

On a side note I met a nice couple from Detroit at the game yesterday. Got to talking, told him as long as he isn’t a jerk no one in philly will mess with him. He bought us a round. We bought them a round. Had a really good time. I wish all fans from other teams would be as cool as them.

Proposed price for Stone is a 1st, a prospect, and an NHL roster player. Would imagine Sens looking for similar haul for Duchene.

Duchene has some baggage. I wonder if playing with vets like G, Jake, Coots puts him in a better mindset.

I'm on record as saying I'd like him as a top center option. Seems to be better offensively and would allow us to move G back to wing. BUT, price may be too high.

I liked that we got out to that 5-1 lead. I've thought that we tend to get complacent once we get a small lead. Felt that we need to get greedy and keep going for more. Christ, Ovi gets his 1st goal and doesn't start thinking about passing. He's thinking about getting his 2nd goal.

Once Wings got a little momentum, we didn't respond. We need to develop that instinct to put teams away.

Trading ghost now would be an absolute panic move and would completely lose any trust in the front office. Defensemen sometimes struggle. Letang had a meh year last year and look at him now. If we see another year of ghost struggling maybe then we can discuss it, or if Myers comes in and lights the world on fire, but until then ghost needs to be in the teams current and future plans
