He is a beast, and I think he will only get better.

Nobody is McDavid though, AND McDavid is signed 2 years longer and very likely to want to stay.

I don't even think Edmonton does Nylander + Matthews for McDavid + Russell and probably not for just McDavid.

Who is to say Matthews isn't likely to stay when his contract is up? Who is to say McD would necessarily want to stay in EDM?

Having said that, the Leafs definitely wouldn't do McD + Russell for Matthews and BillNy.

I love McD and recognize he's the best player in the league but I think Matthews is being severely underrated in comparisons. The gap isn't as far as many would have you believe.
