Almost a full day without posting every 2 minutes, either he got wind of your thread and is hurt…or he is heading to his next job.

Wow, he just high jacks the thread and blathers out any thoughts that comes into his head. I thought we needed a safe zone.

He's a good guy, just a little jacked up at times, well a lot of times, but harmless overall.

A nice guy who doesn't know when to STFU.
A constant stream of word salad.
8-12 posts in a row, about nothing.
It's going to be a long week.

That's why I've just started to skip them. Don't mind reading what he has to say, but the 1/2 page of just his replies that are just nothingness isn't adding anything for me. And it's every single page for like 6 pages lol

I also get super annoyed when people text like that.

Hey.
What's up?
How's it going over there?
lol

Just send it in one (frank)ing message, you don't need four for that.

Has someone moved onto their next job, seems so quite and dare I say almost normal. Well except for Donnie and ________ (insert your annoying poster here, 😉)

I thought he retired? At any rate, it's a welcome break from the continual blah blah blah we are accustomed to with his eight posts in a row saying nothing.

Funny...

If he's back, I couldnt imagine his posts now. 72 times whining about a player in a two day thread when everything was running smoothly.

I think the main thread needs a timeout.

Great day at the Players Championship today.

That’s exactly why I stopped, or rather stopped by much less frequently, coming to HB. Though this is true for all channels of social media, because I quit those too. Much happier now.

Most people I know that are middle aged or older have faded away from social media, at least on a regular basis. 15+ years ago FB was the place to be to keep up to date with a life time of acquaintances, big or small. Everybody was sharing what they were doing and experiencing in life. Sharing media on hot topics... lots of private mail coming and going. Now, hardly anyone is interested anymore. The only people I see posting a lot are crying out for attention. Mostly needy clingy woman who are struggling with being past their prime. Also seems like people are now adays afraid to express themselves.

Twitter became a Richard measuring contest from people who hide their identity. The Canucks thread is basically the same thing. I didn’t read all the posts from today (or any day), I skip over lots of posters because I already know they are a moron, but what I did read just reaffirmed what a highway gas station toilet this place it. I thought there might be some tears from an epic meltdown good for a laugh.

Everything has become nauseating on there. I tried to block all political comments and or people and just focus on sports information but the amount of whining on there is worse than Vantel crying about Petey's next contract. As a consulting engineer I have a bit of free time on my hands while I wait on project progress so I fill it on here, but it gets difficult at times.

I tried Twitter for hockey but it only lasted a year before I couldn't take it anymore. It was the worse case of group think I ever witnessed. I was originally only using Twitter for posting fishing journals while on my trips, bird watching stuff and music. I ruined my algorithms and couldn't escape the garbage after wandering away from that. I dropped it altogether.

I actually searched the Canucks forums for a Vantel/Booner battle thread but found this instead.

I agree with it though, a safe haven is needed from full pages of incoherent posts.

You'd have to go back 10-12 years to find an old fight between Vantel and I. This current one's origins goes back to when Soucy got injured and Vantel claimed it was set up so they could put him on LTIR until the end of the season(even tho he sat on the bench the entire 3rd with a injured hand). I laughed and said, I wish I had a dollar for every time he said that about a player. He took that so personal that he trolled me for two months over and over about being right even though it hadnt played out yet. Naturally, Soucy came back on schedule and instead of shutting up about it, he rearranged his story and continued to troll. At that point I said (frank) it, lets tear his Capspiracy apart. His meltdown was predictable. He wants to troll this place all day everyday with his crap about guardians and guzzlers but when they push back, he throws massive fits.

Has he shut up about it yet? Nope, still popping shots off yesterday.... havent looked yet today.

Thank you for this. Great piece! The words in these two paragraphs is what I've been saying for a long time.

The CPC has been guided or led by Reformers such as Preston Manning, Harper, Andrew Scheer, Poilievre and Jenni Byrne. They did their best to damage the old PC Party. Over the last 20 years, they have worked to remove any remnant of moderate conservatism from the CPC. Progressive conservatives do not owe these Reformers any loyalty.

In hindsight, the PC-Alliance merger was not a reuniting of two feuding branches of the same conservative family. In fact, the merger was a takeover of the conservative brand by Reform, whose reactionary leaders had never shared progressive conservatism’s pragmatism or its willingness to adjust to new social trends. At heart, Reform and PC represented opposing views of life.

A proper Progressive Conservative party would end up forcing the Liberals & NDP to merge, making a revived PC party the middle of the road party.
That's if the Liberal party even exists after the next election.
