Honestly I’m very happy with him. I thought after 2 huge injuries this offseason. He showed a lot for not being 100% back and in perfect hockey shape.

Go and get actual quality players, even if it means a longer term and/or higher AAV.

Get rid of the overpaid fringe types as needed, and that includes players like Samuelsson.

And as the Cap goes up, it might not be as hard to dump players in 4 or 5 years. If we want a quality player with the qualities we want we might need to give that extra. I don't think it hurts as much if it's quality and not a Eric Johnson Kyle Okposo Zemgus Girgensons type.

The projection is for slightly under $6M per, but I upped it due to Buffalo.

Overall, if we continue to worry about cap hits and being a bargain franchise, we'll continue to see a cycle of mediocrity as we've seen the past 2 to 3 seasons.

I wish it were so simple, I would unjinx us somehow.

I'm really just done with the cap circumvention stuff. If it were up to me I'd make Vegas forfeit the playoffs right now and strip them of all their draft picks for quite some time. That and some substantial fines, totaling a couple hundred million, would certainly curb the enthusiasm of others to repeat this.

INSTEAD they'll let this go and in a season or two, the TDL will be 3-4 teams acquiring half a roster of players while the rest of the league preps for next season. It'll turn into baseball before the cap era and utterly destroy the sport. It's that serious.
