That would require a huge leap from the defensive picks and Scott Ratzlaff becoming a star. Think this was thought out solely from the forwards prospective - SDSabre
He probably meant in the AHL.

He'd have to waive the NMC, so there are more hurdles there. - QuinnFan
Pegula would actually be paying more in Actual money than his Cap hit this year if they traded him and retained 50% this upcoming Year. Not that I wouldn't mind getting rid of his Contract, but probably have to wait 1 more year when his actual Cash payments for the final 2 years are 7mill and 5mill. |

That would make more sense. I just don't know if Skinner would waive or not. He chose to stay here due to proximity with his family. |

I may be wrong about Wahlberg, he looks like a beast since coming over. |

Well Adams or whoever is in charge would need to figure that out. I mean sooner or later you have to get sick of losing! RIGHT |

You would think, but honestly, I'm not sure a contender would want him, even at $5M. But I don't know, just my guess. He's too much of a defensive liability and given that he doesn't contribute much to a PP unit, he's pretty one dimensional. That'd be a tough sell, especially if he has a down year next year. |

Well you get past next year and yes his Cap hit at 50% would be 4.5mill, but your actually paying him 3.5mill and then 2.5mill. Gotta hope he scores 25-30 goals next year and then maybe someone does bite and it doesn't hurt as much to dump him. |

Depends on if he cares or not about being the longest active player without a playoff appearance. That could be motivating to waive for the right team. |

So, if you were the GM of this roster and you are in season end meetings with individual players, what is your message; A) collectively, overall to the team and B) individually to each player?
I'll go...
- Overall: The results of season were plain and simply "not good enough". That goes for everyone in the organization - FO, Coaches and Players. The season was a step backwards in most categories and no one ( not fvckin "noone", it isnt a word) . The organization took a step backwards when it should have been a giant step forward. We missed. A missed opportunity, pure and simple, in a league that doesn't give opportunities to those unprepared for success. Collectively we were not prepared. That cannot and will not happen again, period. You mission this offseason is to prepare mentally and physically for a long playoff run that starts with you, today. This past season doesn't happen again, ever. So tell me, how will you improve this offseason, for your improved play to playoff levels in Training Camp to see if you are ready to compete?
- UPL: great improvement, how do you plan to be more consistent in game and over 55 games next season.
- Levi: what are you going to do to challenge UPL for the starters crease?
- Samuelsson- what is your planto play 82 games next season? What will you do to train to be a dominant top 4 Dman?
- Power: what to you need to do to improve your defensive game? How will you work to inject alot more physicality in your game...productive hits, clearing the front of the net?
- Dahlin: how do you plan to take leadership of this team? How will you work to become comfortable holding teammates accountable? What support do you need.
- Byram: wtf happened? You looked great in games 1-3, then looked very uncomfortable, uncertain.
- Johnson: tell me your plans to work on securing a full time role for 82+ games
- Cliffy:
- Tage: what are you going to work on to become a #1 Center to hit 100 pts or more while remaing a positive, top 10 player in terms of on ice goal differential
- Skinner: what team would you accept a trade to?
- Tuch: how can you help lead this team out of abyss
- Cozens: how do you plan to get back to 70 -80 pts
- Quinn: what are your physical training plans to get through all 82 games healthy?
- Peterka: what are you plans to grab the 1LW position
- Benson: we recommend a regiment to improve your skating, specifically your first two step speed and quickness. Also, here's a plan to develop your overall strength - IonSabres
The bolded for Quinn is funny cause he got hurt training last offseason

He could've been one and done here, chosen a contender in UFA to go to. We should hope his mind changed somewhat if so. |

Little do they know, his off season regime is going to be wild. We are planning a trip to Nepal. There is a Guru there who can steal some of the life force from our galaxy and infuse it into his being. After that he will drink the spinal fluid from a thousand bulls and the blood of ten orcas.
After that, he will never be harmed by a mortal human again. |

This is good, I remember back when they built that pipeline from the bay of Bengal to the mountains of Nepal...and while controversial, the orca blood needs to get there somehow.

When he signed, I don’t think he thought there would be 5 more playoff misses. Just saying. |
