Both have full NTC. So both would have to waive first. Doubtful they would for a trade to Ottawa.

Another OT game. Good job Belleville. Let's get some of our notable prospects some extra games "that matter".

On another note .... I wonder when the Sens will ask permission to speak with John Gruden now that the Marlies are eliminated.

On an earlier thread, I remember a Toronto supporter suggesting an Ottawa "restructure" by trading Tkachuk to Toronto for Mitch Marner .... a one for one trade .... and that Ottawa would be lucky to be getting a perennial 100 points player. Bahahahahahahahahaha.
In actuality, a player like Tkachuk is exactly what what Toronto is missing. This Toronto team reminds me of the early Senators .... great regular season and then not being gritty/mental/determined enough to succeed in the playoffs.

No kidding. I wouldn't make that trade if their contracts were the same $ value. What the Leafs need is to stop being the benchmark for the highest salaries in the league. Tavares AAV set a contract precedent that has snowballed to crush their ability to ice competitive depth. Core 4 don't care so long as the cheques clear, and frankly, if these players truly are complacent with losing over and over, there's nothing TML management can do because every single one of those players has a full NMC. Internal cap of 8.25, with no signing bonuses or blanket trade protection? Yeah, I'll take that over what the Laughs have going any day, every day.
