Edmunston has been a bust since he arrived here. Sure, he's a big shot blocking defenseman, but he's as slow as a slow. No hands, no skating acumen. - PrinceLH
So you wanted bigger and meaner? You gotta give to get. That's what you get.
leaf fans said the same thing about Hal Gill and wanted him out of town. Went on to anchor the pens to a cup

You are playing the team that beat you last year and a potential first round opponent. All your ‘stars’ are playing. You give up the most shots in a period by any team all year?
I’m sorry, we are going to golf again this year. Same core, same results. - Hockey_Reverend
This doesn't make any sense. 31 teams a year end up golfing

No Domi, No McMann. Having a full and healthy roster will make a huge difference. Mitch looks like the odd man out, not knowing which line he'll be on. Probably Tavares and McMann, but who knows? Probably knocks Willy to the 3rd line. Best Defensive setup should be:
Boosh Rielly
McCabe Benoit
Timmins Edmunston
I can't see using a weak defenseman like Liljegren against Boston. Brodie and Giordano aren't up to starting this series.
Offense should be:
Bertuzzi Matthews Domi
McMann Tavares Marner
Knies Holberg Nylander
Dewer Kampf Reaves
Next man up should be Jankrok followed by Robertson.

Jarnkrok isn't available as far as I'm aware so it's definitely Robertson.
Brodie might get in tomorrow night, likely, and he's playing for game 1. I don't think he should but I can see Keefe playing the vet. Personally, I'd put all the guys brought in for the playoffs in game 1 as you have.
Bertuzzi
Domi
Reaves
Edmundson
Dewar
Boosh

A lot of leaf fans whining about the officiating! Must be playoff time they’re trying to cushion the blow of yet another early exit! BOO YEAH! |

I would be a little pissy this morning if I was wings fan. Literally down to final seconds of game 82.

I was watching the Flyers game live while following the Red Wings score on my iPad.
Torts pulling the goalie when he did was justified.
Sucks to be a Wings fan today, but that’s sports. |

Honestly a litany of things.
The Leafs came out overconfident and sloppy in the second. They continued to try and get AM his 70th more than they wanted to just play within a structure or win the game. The officiating didn't help them regain any momentum once Florida had taken it away. At one point 5 straight penalties had been called against the Leafs despite numerous obvious infractions happening the other way as well. The refs closed it out by calling a few penalties against Florida, but the way that game had been called I'm not sure that all 3 penalties would have been called if the Leafs had scored on any of the ensuing power plays.
Regardless of the terrible officiating, that poop will happen and the Leafs STILL need to learn to weather the storm and man the fort - because the other team is going to grab momentum and come at you in waves - but so far with Keefe's defensive structure all they ever seem to do is fold when it happens. They run around, they lose their man in coverage, they flub the clears, the whole team panics as one. I'm not really sure there's anyone on that team can calm them the (frank) down when it goes to poop, but honestly they are in desperate of that leader.

I was refreshing the TSN main page (until it just stopped broadcasting scores because it was "unavailable at this time" - it should be noted that I tell myself to go the NHL page or anywhere else, but old habits die hard) to see if there was a change, because The Score App on my phone was "hung" at 4 seconds left in the game and I was trying to see if something had happened. So I don't think you can blame Torts' lack of technology on the bench for it. He is also in communication with video rooms and other people upstairs who would have told him.

There was a great running and diving Varsho catch on Rizzo to lead off the bottom of the 9th - I believe that's what he's referring to. If Varsho misses that, it's at least a double if not even an inside the park homer - that catch probably saved the game.
Edit: But Schneider surprised me with a couple of really nice defensive plays yesterday. He has a good arm - I'm pretty sure it was Stanton (who reached on Bo's error) that would have been out at home if Jansen had just caught a beautifully thrown and accurate throw from Schneider - and then he made a beauty of a catch in the 8th or 9th, too. |

Even if it wasnt justified, theres no way torts was paying to out of town scores to adjust his coaching plan accordingly.

Schneider was also nice, but I think I saw that had a 55% CP.
Varsho was 9th. that was a ball that dropped in for a double before Varsho was LF
