I know that there’s a lot of mixed emotions in Leafs Nation right now, but at least we can all agree on one thing:

There was a great running and diving Varsho catch on Rizzo to lead off the bottom of the 9th - I believe that's what he's referring to. If Varsho misses that, it's at least a double if not even an inside the park homer - that catch probably saved the game.
Edit: But Schneider surprised me with a couple of really nice defensive plays yesterday. He has a good arm - I'm pretty sure it was Stanton (who reached on Bo's error) that would have been out at home if Jansen had just caught a beautifully thrown and accurate throw from Schneider - and then he made a beauty of a catch in the 8th or 9th, too. - Monkeypunk
Schneider had a great throw to home amd had the out, too bad jansen bobbled it. First game back and all.
I havent been overly impressed with Bo this year, hoping he comes around to form. |

good example of an elite fielder (Varsho) and Schneider who is also good.
Varsho was a tougher catch, but he gets a really good read and jump, he probably makes the Schneider catch on his feet.

Before I got to see him regularly and you really see the difference first hand, this is what we were told about the difference between Kiermaier and Pillar. 8 years later and Kiermaier still reads balls better than just about in CF.

would be nice if he comes around and is....a replacement level hitter at least. that would be nice
but iv liked IKF so far. really good Def also.
Bo will get hot again. Vlad is the one who pisses me off. just need a bit more from him. |

I wasnt impressed with ikf, but he has grown on me, hes gotten better.
Vlad is horrible most times at the plate as well, swings at so many outside pitches....some that are way outside. Hes definitely not a reliable hitter, nothing like he once was.
Still great at first though |

Vlady came in and was great his first couple of years. Once the analytics people started to work on him, teams had a book on his tendencies. Vlady can't seem to adjust to how they're pitching him. If he wasn't the son of a famous ball player, he wouldn't get the huge contract that he's after. I submit that he shouldn't get it regardless. It appears that he's what he currently is and will probably never get back to his early years production. All I can say to the Blue Jays management, don't overpay him! He won't be worth it going forward. He'll be an everyday DH in about 3 years.

well really, Vlad has one huge outlier season. the rest have been pretty decent, but not elite. So maybe the expectations are a bit high.
his first 2 seasons line up with his last couple.. they were not amazing. just that 1 season |

I see a 6 or 7 game series. The Bruins are sound structurally. Their biggest weakness is their ability to ramp up to another level. They play this way from game one of the season to the end. The Leafs play Helter Skelter hockey. They play wide open and take chances. They often get beaten playing this way. However, if they get on a roll, they can win a series against a structured hockey team. The Bruins and Carolina play a similar style and Carolina often dies because of this. The Bruins no longer have Bergeron, so the Leafs should have an advantage at Centre. For the Leafs to win, they must be the more physical team. The Leafs goaltending only needs to match the Bruins goaltenders to win this series. I'm not convinced that the Bruins goaltending is superior, it's just their defensive systems that make them look that way. Players to key on are MacAvoy and Pasternak. A strong forecheck is a must and crease presence in the offensive zone will be important. |

Yeah I am actually confident in this one compared to FLA.
I hope TB pulls through and beat the Cats.
Panthers are (frank)ing relentless but I think if Vasi plays well this series its theirs to lose. |

Dream scenario is Bruins win 1st game, Leafs win next 3 bigly, and there are cheap flights to Boston for game 5. |

Truth be told, I think we have a better chance against Boston. - Atomic Wedgie
On paper the Panthers are way better than Boston.
They are not deep and Carlo likely won't be ready or healthy the whole series.
Their goaltending is elite but Bob raises his game come playoff time.
This will be a fun series, I am looking forward to it. |
