Package rights to Krebs ($900k) + either a prospect or draft pick for a mean 3rd pairing d - ideally late 20's with a history of fighting but known as a gem in the locker room (guy should cost in the $3-5mm range)

I would trade Joker for futures and sign a mean vet to league minimum

This opens the door to allow prospects to get playing time for injuries, to assess what's really down there, as well as balances the roster...while taking a big swing at the comfortable core players on the team now.

Then I would sign UPL on the condition he takes boxing lessons and I would make the entire team fight at the drop of the puck, every preseason game.

Obviously there will be injuries (Samuelsson) and I don't disagree we could us that type of d-man, but are you telling Johnson to take a back seat again (personally I couldnt care less how the player feels its there job to secure a spot) in his second year?

Actually no you probably don't want him out there. Plenty of grit on that team, if they had someone better he'd be sitting like he did much of the regular season

F the Laff's - Reaves is still valuable, hence all the top teams that continue to sign him - a stat you might not agree with or like, but a factual stat nonetheless.

Mitch Marner is making 10.9million and has the same stat line as Reaves but yes Reaves is the problem

You realize he played 49 games or whatever cause the regular season is faster and they would want to be a faster team on some nights.... The playoffs is not the regular season. Space is limited, speed and skill get halted to some degree. Bigger stronger bullies are needed.

Leafs are up in the series had they spent time on acquiring a real goaltender. This is their only fault.

Watched Marner carry the puck into zone, defender stepped up towards him and he just stopped, for split second it looked like he thought about skating it back out of zone. Then he just passed the puck to nobody in particular.
