Does anyone on Philly's roster trip anyone's trigger? Frost, Farabee, Coutourier? Seems they are willing to deal some players this offseason. I know Frost and Coutourier both were healthy scratches during the year and weren't happy about it. Maybe they just didn't blend well with Torts? - Chunk
Coutourier is 31 has had a lot of injury issues and is signed for another 6 years at 7.75 per. Probably doesn't make sense.
Haven't watched enough of Philly to comment on the other two but theyre in the right age group and seem to have decent enough production. |

9 goals for USA today and Eiserman with none. Maybe he'll last until pick 20. - boilermaker100
Goofy stuff happens. A decent amount of the teams picking in the top 15 were expected to take some bigger steps this year. Anaheim, Columbus, Ottawa, Calgary, Jersey, Buffalo, Seattle.
It'll be interesting to see if some of these teams are looking to bet on a specific skill set OR if the trend is going to be (once the big defenders are gone) to the all around toolset guys that aren't high end but probably going to be NHL players since they need to fill out the roster over the next few years more so than add another super star or high end talent.
Like, does Anaheim really need a top 5 pick or does a NHL player make more sense. Same for Seattle. Maybe they would be hip to trading down for a few seconds. Most of these GM's are pretty risk averse though. |

BM, I'm running a scenario based on MY evaluation of the top 10 in the draft but for the most part it's mainstream. I'm probably higher on Eiserman and Parekh than most guys paid to evaluate but for the most part I'm mainstream this yr.
But IMO there really isn't a question at all of my top 7-8 in NHL minds just the order. No real disagreements on the players as the 2nd tier is easy to differentiate from the others this yr.
I know NHL organIzations run all kinds of draft scenarios and their own mocks, obviously, and with the top 7-8 being close to impossible to differentiate, and or clear cut, as prospects I don't think any ESP is needed to know what the other GM is thinking about the top 7ish players.
But as far as the #4 vs the #'s 8-9 I would not do that deal. IMO you'll get a difference making NHL player at #4 and the chances of doing that with the #'s 8 and 9 much much much less so. - Mr Ricochet
Parekh seems like a really interesting one, especially after watching how Hughes dictates the play for Vancouver. I think Colorado is showing you can't have enough guys that can advance the puck forward with their feet or a tape to tape pass. |

It is funny how a person like me, who has no 9 to 5 job, has all this unused time and brain and I start thinking about hockey rumors I read and try and connect them to other situations.
Today I read that the Sabres were going to be mentioning winger Jack Quinn as a trade piece. He has been marred with injuries even before he was drafted but 24 goals and 58 points over his three seasons since being drafted somehow has them thinking he is more asset than answer there.
Well, guess whose unused time and brain started thinking is there a possible comparable in this year’s draft class, and I thought, NO!, but some might try and use Eiserman as a comparison since Quinn did have a 52 goal and 89 point season while in the OHL with the Ottawa 67’s. Eiserman.
Please don’t.
It is difficult to ignore Cole's 97 goal, 154 point season while at ShattuckSt Mary's, and all the rest where the biscuit is in the basket.
Eiserman skates better, reads better and may not have that extra inch that Quinn has but Cole Eiserman is thicker and a load on the attack. The rest will come. Don’t believe the draft drop.
Ok, back to U-18 - wiz1901

How I can be so excited in the the players we are have a chance to get in the top four...
Now I am wondering if we can get Eiserman with the third pick so we have a Kreider clone to go with our Bedsy a perfect fit for his passes.
Cole Eiserman in the Kucherov shot slot region will score with be scoring with regularity unlike "Phil."
I won't be disappointed if we get the consolation prize of the big Cayden Lindstrom with 4th over all...

Da, tovarisch .....
...aside from that .... can someone FF to the draft already? Then to the season ... got nothing on the draft - do like the idea of a pure goal scorer on wing -so am inclined towards Eis assuming it is not the #1. |

As I keep saying, the Hawks need a goal scoring forward or RHD with their pick in 2024. I’d be happy with Eiserman, Demidov or Levshunov. But I would be ok with Lindstrom or D!ckinson if that’s the direction KD goes. |

Dobber looks back at what went right and wrong this season for the Hawks. Good read but IMO glazes over Vlasic for example. Nice read on KK.
https://dobberhockey.com/...nski-and-mrazek-april-25/
"It was worse, but not wholly different, so while Reichel wasn't making the team's superstar better, he wasn't hurting him that much.
Reichel was also doing some things that we want to see from a talented forward as he carried the puck into the zone on 72.9% of his entries at 5-on-5. Of Chicago's 11 forwards with at least 125 tracked minutes (about 12-or-more games), it was just a shade behind Bedard's 73% carry rate, and second among Blackhawks forwards. The league average rate among forwards was 52.1%, so he was well clear of that, and these are the forwards he (and Bedard) compared to across the league by carried zone entry percentage:"

I've seen the similarities in Lindstrom and Krieder for a couple months. Kreider is freakishly fast but Lindstrom might have a better burst as he's more of a quick twitch athlete. Watch a Lindstrom game and he spends a lotta time in the low slot battling, slammin home rebounds, tipping pucks like Krieder. Both are big strong players .. But Lindstrom is a more able athlete in the open ice. The ability to jump on his edges and zig.
My maniac bud who watches 13 yr old tournaments made a fine comparison of Eiserman that is a damn good one I hadn't thought of. Brett Hull!!
Edit: Easy to see a lotta Evander Kane in Lindstrom too. |

They are gonna get a helluva player at #2-3 or 4, Kaner. A 50 goal scorer, an excellent skating tough 6ft 4in centerman, a Dman who could challenge for a pt per game or a reasonably projected top pairing Dman.
Or, Celibrini!!

Right now, today, Quinn Hughes is the most dangerous hockey player in the Ozone IMO. Incredible, no make that elite, skating, vision, IQ, reads and dishing ability. And now he's starting to shoot..... Kid is incredibly dangerous anytime the puck passes the redline.
I'm coming around to thinking Parekh's floor would be a Brandon Montour. Is that worth the 2nd overall pick? No, but that ain't bad at all, but he has Makar type offensive upside.
Yesterday did show me something about Pareck. He slammed into the end boards badly, came back on a play and dove to break up a play he really had no chance of knowing he'd slam into the post at near full speed. ...... He got back up both times. Showed me some hunger/urgency I hadn't seen and also it was ill advised IMO. |

Absolutely love Odunze, and will even more once they allow that receiver from SD walk when he asks for 25 mil per after next season, but that left tackle outa Penn State with the funky name might be the 10 yr pro bowler every HOF QB knows the value of.
Love when my QB can stand there and stand there waiting for a play to open and you need two good to great tackles to do that. Also nice when my QB can play all 17 games each yr and you need beasts on the line to keep him uninjured.

Caleb Williams and Olu Fashanu(LT from Penn ST) were HS teammates at Gonzaga high in DC. When the Bears took Odunze, you heard Caleb tell the reporter "We got our guy" there was only one guy that Caleb was pounding the table for, and that was the best WR in the draft, and they got him. |

BM, I've been using onhockeytv for 5-6-7 yrs for all of my hockey other than the USHL which I pay to see. I do not pay for anything other than the USHL.
onhockeytv has been a savior for me.I can and have watched the NHL, Liiga, KHL, SHL, all international tournaments, all CHL (OHL, WHL, QMJHL) all NCAA for free, everyday.
I've never had a problem with the 3 computers I've used to watch the reddit illegal streams. Not sure of your tolerance for the risk but I've never had a problem with a virus...... But you have to fool around to find out how and which streams work best as far as volume and full picture or streams that work best without buffering.
I use fluidtv link for the CHL and NCAA. xstream, vodacst are two to try for the NHL. These are links at onhockeytv that you can use. Some games have 30 links.

Looks like Jokinen and Suoniemi scored most of the points for the Finns - and are draft eligible this year - did they look promising? I see they had a Koivu also. - totem

Caleb has never played an NFL game and IMO as a result has no idea what's needed to be a good NFL QB or what makes NFL teams win. .... It's over, I love Odunze, but I'll always err on taking lineman. The centerman and shut down Dmen of the NFL.

What to do about Connelly? He a good talent but there’s the baggage. If he’s available at Tampa’s pick does Davidson take a chance or do you think some teams, including the Hawks have him blacklisted? |
