Prince George wins 5-0 over Portland. Paraczak 1G, 1A, Becher 1G.

PG is playing their backup goalie, Joshua Ravensbergen (2025 eligible). Not sure if he is expected to amount to anything, but he is solid every time I watch. Tall, right hand catch, calm, balanced, and aggressive on coming out to cut down the angle. Will be interesting to follow next year.

And until expansion took away the habs exclusively the player rights to most Quebec prospects, they were provided a arsenal of bargaining chips to keep layers like Tardiff and Houle, and then take their surplus to get Guy Lafluer's first overall pick.

I am not trying to downplay the sheer idea of a five peat, but expansion changed that, but also the islanders go lots of early picks b/c the were so bad.

- wiz1901

The habs had the exclusive right to the first pick from the quebec league. Other than that all teams were playing under the same rules. Habs just drafted and developed their players better.

You have to split time between this and CHL playoffs and graduate to the Memorial Cup.

It is getting t be fun with the first 16 picks about to be sorted soon.

The Saginaw London game last night was fun to watch. D!ckinson looked really good.

There is optimism with most if not all of the known prospects KD has drafted and with some, as well, plucked by the previous GM - Bownan.

That is due to the fact there has been progress in their development

You saw some prospects compete in the Frizen Four.
Other prospects include Kantserov whose team won the KHL championship

Some prospects were in the NCAA playoffs although they did nit get ti the Frozen Four

I.am excited however for five prospects deemed good enough to sign the short-term contracts to compete in the AHL playiffs. I don't know how each gets into the lineup every playoff contest but why sign them if they aren't getting fast track coaching insofar as to have a clue what to do defensively. There are five forwards and I suggest Hayes and Savoie could use this experience as a springboard to start off strong in Rockfird next season. Their progress might include a cup of coffee in the NHL or even more time in the NHL next season

So yes Help is on the way for Bedard and company

Ludzinski is my pick my favorite to see progress into a nice role in Chicago/unsure the timeline but eventually he will compete against Moore, Greene, and Savoie in their first year with Nazar ahead of them in more of a scoring role. How they all turn out....well let us hope they keep progressing

Right now if I am reading the tea leaves right Hayes would project more as a scorer but the aforementioned in last sentence could very well be scorers too. Hayes comes for a cup of coffee he has to be on a top line; the others may (emphasis MAY) start on lower lines

And about Ludzinski: just like the game he brings

Excited to see how they all keep progressing

Ludwinski, Hayes and Savoie will be in Rockford next year. Since their seasons finished it was logical to get them to the ice hogs to at least be around the team as they go through the playoffs. Ladies and likely Pharand will be back with their junior teams next season, but again it’s good to get them in a playoff atmosphere with a higher level team. I’d be surprised if any see many PO games this year unless there are injuries. Same thing happened last year.

I edited my post to include more detailed about the points I was making. I believe if you go back to see the edited version that you will agree with my assessment of the various player projection

What is your presupposition of the maturation of the just signed prospects that are on Rockford? Do you surmise the plausibly they can play for Rockford during the playoffs?

If Utah is looking to make a move up, maybe they would go for Jonrs. They do not have one NHL D man under contract next year, and their unsigned UFA’s/RFA’s do not scream as top pairing D men.

I wouldn't expect to see Misiak and probably not Lardis. In a tough series against a very good goaltender - which could be Askarov/Milwaukee, if down in the series a good defensive team and one of the leading picks to win the AHL title, I could imagine that Lardis spotted in occasional top line or just Pp duty just because he could be a difference maker with his shot

Savoie is an energetic player, hard nosed good skater who.might find ways to score. Would be something to see him and L' Heroux jabbing at each other as well as any opponent. Could Savoie be inserted and told to try to not retaliate too much because Rockfird might need to pull a few tricks or strategy to beat Milwaukee. Two very good teams but Milwaukee did win the division and went nearly two months without a loss after roughly New Years day.

Hayes is the real deal.so maybe his talent forces Blackhawks KD to huddle with Icehogs and convince them to insert Hayes

Ludzinski acquited himsrlf quite well but it is a numbers game and Rockford had some role players been there all season. And remember Reichel is playing and is Bjork returning. Bjork was a solid scorer solid player this season before he went down injured

Pharand or whatever his name is a potential sleeper prospect but not good enough to bump someone out of a roster spot in the playoffs

You know like Slaggert wearing a letter for ND, Ludwinski wearing a letter for his previous team, i love these types of players because coaches do. I only notice them because of clips on Twitter. This tells me the coaches trust them to be responsible team mates. It's been true of Slaggert and i imagine you are seeing that in Ludwinski. If these players can hang in the NHL the more you have of them the better these are the players that help you win games, imho.

I cannot say I have a vision but I will say a sneaky suspicion that the style KD wants to play and the players he drafts, could come together to outplay or outperform their opponent on the bottom two possibly even L2-4. I hope a sneaky good blueline crew with each member capable (not a stud but capable) puck handler/passer/shooter can jump in “periodicly” to create havoc even score.

I am willing to see this team evolve this way and I can see it happening as a gradually molded team erupts like a volcano and hockey commentators will say, watch out for Chicago they are coming on and can overwhelm even good teams with their skill compete and skating

I could see drafting whoever KD likes best (say D I c k I n s o n or Eiserman). If the dman with first pick then I am hopeful but not seeing how KD could trade up from # 19 ? Tampa slot to a slot around #10 trying to land an offensive forward with Lindstrom and Caton possibly slipping to about tenth overall.

OTHER
I have a Blackhawks banner on a shepherds hook I bought at a Chicagoland hospital gift shop and am hoping to get a Blackhawks car Matt to use as a doormat. The car Matt a friend has buried somewhere but had promised to sell it to me - I think it was from a Chicagoland repair/ sales car place from maybe ten years ago - not sold any longer. I might use tha shepherds hook and banner as my avatar but I haven’t look into how to do that for the avatar
MORE That darn auto correct changes the spelling of D I c k I n s o n in preview mode I then submit and hys name is changed to Richardson! I cannot correct it, so I have to use space bar between letters of his name! Believe it!

Gavin Hayes was traded from Flint to Soo, IIRC at or near the TDL, and I noticed in the playoffs he was wearing an A for his new club. ........ He really passed the eye test. He looked very mature and poised.

If you can't tell I'm excited Rico, beginning to see the layers to this rebuild. Wonder if that's a thing they are looking at past the 1st round, what kind of team mate will this hockey player be? Is he going to hurt us defensively? Impressive that the Russian team put Kantserov on the top line mid season, and they won the cup with him playing more minutes. So many layers to good to great hockey players.

Probably more excited after the Bears draft.

Every kid in the province would sign on the dotted line to even get a chance to play for
Montreal.

They invested in multiple junior teams.

In the 1950s the Blackhawks basically had ONE in St. Catherines Teepees. The bought the pro AHL team to acquire more pros like Pierre Pilote.

I can pull out my old Hockey News from the 1960's and you can see the afflictions. It's not like I am making up facts.

Dots, you have every right to be excited and selfishly I'm excited to see Hawk fans like you being excited. Instead of typing out 4 paragraphs, simply said a fan is much more connected to an NHL club when you follow a kid from the day he's drafted, and some folks know these kids even before they're drafted...... My crazy jrs bud in STL often reminds me he gave me a heads up on Nazar when the kid was 14 cuz he watches all those tournaments.

You're along for the journey at its earliest stages and that makes it more fun. But, yea man the Hawks have some nice looking prospects trickling up to RKF and as you posted it's time to figure out a way to see some Ice Hog's games.

And for sure big time, Kancerov getting near 15 minutes in the KHL, the playoffs to boot, is no small feat and in fact rare. This ain't a bottom feeding squad but a playoff team.

To a lesser degree Rinzel too. He stayed an extra yr in the USHL so he's a 19 yr old freshman but at a powerhouse program U of MN program the kid saw 1st pairing minutes and PP time. I don't need to see any stats to tell me the kid is playing and developing well just from that info. ..... To a lesser degree a kid wearing a letter tells you much. As you posted, this is a kid the coach trusts and that of course says much and is important. ........ I haven't seen Kancerov play but have Rinzel this yr. Of all the prospects I'm most happy with Rinzel this yr. I guess I didn't expect too much too early cuz watching him in the USHL he was really green and had a long way to go, especially in his end and his compete level. He looked engaged and not lost in his zone at U of MN this yr and that along with his physical traits you could start to see what he might become.

For sure, you have every right to be excited and not in a fan boy kinda way. A lotta legit/objective reasons for excitment.
