I remember after last years playoffs I floated Panarin for Marner out there and got ripped to shreds by people (not necessarily on this blog) saying that we’d have to throw in Fox/Igor and a 1st at least. I’ll tell ya who I’d rather have today…
To be clear I wasn’t advocating for that trade then I was just seeing what the general consensus would be |

They’re too top heavy. Rely on superstars upfront and can’t fill out the rest of the lineup. Can’t have Marner Nylander Tavares Mathews all making $11 million+, and this year Nylander is only at 6.9 and Mathews at 11 (next year 13). I think 2, not just 1 need to be traded. |

I could be wrong, but I think both Matthews and Marner both have full NMCs so will be hard to move. But agree with you they are too top heavy, especially on offense. They don't have good goaltending or defense. |
