We know.

I'd glad they showed some pride and didn't get swept, but I have no delusions that they will win the series.

So, since they won, barring any non-disclosed injury. We can expect the same line up.

Thanks. As loyal Islander fans, we live to see our team help the Rangers' cause: i.e., winning their 2nd Stanley Cup since the Roosevelt Administration.

Kept riding those 4 cup wins from 40 plus years ago isn’t that ironic!. Those were great players and great teams and your organization has been a disgrace to those teams. Were you even alive. When they won four straight cups!

FDR was lucky too, he got to sit in those sweet handicap area seats right by the glass next to where Darren Pang stands for the 1933 and 1940 Cups

Team showed heart not quitting yesterday. Nice to see Barzal have a good game. It's not easy putting up points against the Canes. Robert had an assist on the winner, but players like Martin, Cal, and Robert are not the best fit against a team like the Canes. I would go with Holmstrom next game and still think about putting in Aho.

What is funny that is that talking to many legitimate Ranger fans B.O.B. Your super team wanted nothing to do with us in the first round of the playoffs, B.O.B. What is even funnier is that only the RAG fans bring up the four stanley cups.

What nice about those days B.O.B. was when I got the chance to see this disgrace of an organization bounce your boys out of the playoffs many times.

You like apples B.O.B.? With all our bad years and your super teams B.O.B. we still hold a 20-19 edge in playoff wins against you. How do you like those apples B.O.B.

Learn how to win with some grace.

It was nice to see Barzal leave the figure skating circle and join the party. As for the next game. You need guys that can make tape to tape passes. Eat up the ice when a lane is given to you. Hopefully they finally realize that one touch passes and shooting the puck ON net leads to goals. Holding the puck only plays into Carolina's game and allows them to attack defensively.

Lastly, can we have a game where guys stop with blind passes. Passing with their heads down. If Pullock, Pelech, Bort, or Engvall do it one more I am going to lose my sh!t

Barzal does need to go to the net more.

Islanders have to play as a 5-man unit against the Canes. They cannot just have the forwards on the attack and the dmen far out of the play. You also need as much speed as possible against the Canes. This is where Ruslan and Holmstrom come into play. Fasching has not had much of an impact. Patrick has to forget loyalty to Martin even if he is healthy. The constant loyalty to vets has hurt this team.

So basically they are in the same exact position as last year. Down 3 to1 heading to Carolina for game 5. Nothing changes with this team.

Might be interesting to see what's up with Clutterbuck. He left the bench for a while during the game and I don't think he hit double digit ice time in a 2 overtime game.

Edit: Actually it was 7:02

Well, not quite, but I do wish you were further off in your estimates.

Let's just say, as I have previously confessed on these boards, that I root for the home team, and, yes, in the original 6 days, that was the Rangers. So yes, I am a former Ranger fan. My favorite players as a kid? Andy Bathgate and Gump Worsley.

Also, I remember going to a game at the OLD Madison Square Garden........on 8th Avenue. Of course, it was to see the Knicks, not the Rangers.

I’m with you on Steve Thomas. Guy did it all and when it was time to throw down he didn’t pull any punches. Great player.

Stumpy was great on that 1993 team. Like Cpt said, he could do it all, including the rough stuff.

JS you’re a good man.

My first favorite and my always favorite is Denis Potvin…shocker. My first Isles jersey was a LaFontaine jersey. My dad’s favorite was Gillies. He tells me when he beat up Schultz that’s when he knew the Islanders were a contender. I never stood a chance in my family.

I wish I got the opportunity to see him play in person. YouTube doesn't cut it. I will admit that I really enjoy videos of Clark Gilles teaching people to behave.
