There were people who hated the trade. I know where I and the majority stood on it though. We liked the acquisition but felt they gave up a little too much. Now it can be settled that they didnt give up too much.

I don't think fans should be criticized for it though. Look at our current management for example.... their priority was to sign Horvat and were actively trying to trade Miller at the same time. Both management and Miller openly talked on how they couldn't find a trade partner for the unsigned Miller. In the end, Horvat not budging on his $8mil was the deciding factor on who they were willing to give that kind of money to but it's an open book on them not knowing just how good Miller was going to be until this season obviously or they would have never dreamed of trading him.

In the end, the league didnt know who Miller was going to become and should be kicking themselves in the ass for turning down Van's trade offers. Because of that, management lucked out...

There is always some luck involved but you also make your own. Which in this case the coaching changes went along way to improving JTM.

RT has been phenomenal on pressing all the right buttons with his coaching staff all season. The playoffs are a new challenge but it’s also going well. Even if they lose out to Preds the built in excuse of losing Demko has some coverage. However, I think they can get past the Preds as they are and JTM has a lot to do with it.

I am a huge supporter of RT but that shouldn't make him exempt from criticism on the lack of production from the top 6 in the playoffs. Management gave up a hefty package to acquire top 6 help. They were upfront about their intent before, during and after the trade and RT used the acquisition to replace the center on the NHL's best 3rd line in the league. Fixing what wasnt broke. He only sacrificed a tiny bit of time to try and get it to work on the top 6. Now here we are... Hogz and Miky on Petey's wing.

All season Hogz has responded great when being moved up in the line up but every time, it's had a shelf life of just a few games before his offensive output fades. The cycle continues and Miky, we'll he's been a deadbeat since they acquired(edit) him him... injured, recovering from injury or just invisible for months...

@Vantel

Good debate, thanks for being civil, no name calling just expressing our opinion. Now I've gotta go to some antique show with my wife....

Miller was a selfish, defensive liability, POS player when he scored 99 points. His game and maturity level have come around so much since Tocchet arrived. Neither Miller or EP40 are in the MacKinnon class of center, if they play a really good two-way game and score 80 points I’d be more than happy with them. Vegas won the Cup with two top centers that had 66 and 65 points.

Pettersson is better than mackinnon defensively. That’s just a statistical fact, i agree he's much better and more clutch offensively but a lot of EP talk on here doesnt seem to notice how he dominates defensively. Forsberg has been his primary assignment.

Cheering for the Bruins feels so distasteful, but under the circumstances, let’s go Bruins.

Jeez…the Arizona Cardinals almost drafted a whole new team at the NFL draft this weekend, 12 picks, but the Seahawks did well also and they’re gonna crush those Cardinals all year long.

Regarding Petterson's play, he's been off since the All-Star Game. At the skills competition, his hardest shot was way down from last year. Small sample size, but could be indicative of an minor injury limiting his full ability.

I don't even feel dirty about it. I'm not really cheering for the Bruins. I'm cheering for the team playing against the Leafs as I always do.

Lefty is making this about my dislike for Petey when it is in fact my dislike for Petey's contract.

EP may or may not have the skill to reach 100 pts again but who are his linemates? I don't think Hoglander and Podkolzin are going to help him come close to that mark. Same as when the Leafs had to let go Hyman because of other huge contracts.

The comparison of Petey to Toews I don't see it at all. Maybe in a few years I will but I don't see any resemblance right now.

- VANTEL

I would happily take the over on that bet!

Petey will hit 100 again forsure.

Just be responsible though and the pts will come when you have talent like him. Maybe he and Lekkerimaki click then look out

Marchand is such a little dirtbag weasel, but I hope he scores a hat trick.
