In nearly 15 minutes of power play time against the Rangers, the Hurricanes have generated only 6 scoring chances.

The penalty kill being the momentum shifter in these games is incredible.

I don't even think the Rangers PK is doing anything overly impressive, the Canes are just way too passive on the powerplay. It's such a stark contrast to how they usually create offense and it's bizarre. It's like they treat the Powerplay as a break from work.

(Normally) Both our teams are excellent on the PK and apply more pressure than 95% of the league. I think the added threat of Mika, CK20, Goody and Vesey being so quick to counter-attack also has them 2nd guessing and maybe moving the puck slightly before they're ready.
