Of course Kuch received an "offer" from the KHL...
Shocking to see these cheap Russian negotiation tactics. |

How are they cheap? If another employer offered you a ridiculous amount of money are you going to decline the offer, or would you use it as additional leverage to get paid more?
I know 99.9% of the population would use it as additional leverage. |

Good I hope he signs there - Yzermans an arrogant little F&*K - I hope Tampa lose him and Bishop and Druin and Johnson and Palat - they didn't even deserve to get Stampkos!!! |

Right, because 99.9% of North American and European players use KHL offers as leverage.
Everybody knows that Kucherov isn't going to leave the NHL to go play in a glorified beer league. That's what makes this such a joke. |

Kuch's leverage is comparable contracts signed by other players around the NHL. This KHL "offer" isn't worth the paper it is printed on much less worth anything as "leverage" in negotiations. Kuch isn't going to the KHL, Kuch knows that, Yzerman knows that, hell even the KHL knows that. No harm in "trying" even if in this case all they are doing is pissing upwind, but that is where this attempt by KHL begins and ends.
I would hope that everyone has learned by now that Yzerman isn't gonna be bullied by "outside" pressures. Just ask Drouin/Walsh how that goes

What would you if you were Dallas's GM give up to get him? |

You must have this Yzerman confused with some other Yzerman. |

How is Kucherov being cheap? He's the fifth or sixth best wing in the league behind Ovechkin, Benn, Tarasenko, Kane, and maybe Hall and he's only 23. His actual worth is much more than the Lightning can give him if we're assuming the Lightning can only realistically give him 6 mil AAV long term. If Kuch signs for anything under 7.5 mil he's being the complete opposite of cheap. It'd be in his interest to force arbitration/get a bridge deal and cash in when he's closer to UFA. |

Correct, I believe Killorn and Namesy were the only 2 to file and obviously both were avoided

Most players must have four years of NHL experience before they are eligible for salary arbitration (the term is reduced for those who signed their first NHL contract after the age of 20).
Killorn started his ELC after he was 20 was two year removed from his initial ELC which gave him arbitration rights and Namestnikov was one year removed from his ELC which gave him the four years necessary to file for arbitration.
Kucherov would have ARB rights next year if say he signed a 1 year deal this year which gives him the 4 years of NHL experience. |

Several russian players have gotten offers. To my knowledge, not counting Russians running away because they're in trouble for beating their wives, only Kovalchuk has actually done it, and we all that was a disaster. |

I didn't claim he did I just said it'd be in his interest. I didn't know he didn't have the rights though. I still don't have the best handle on RFA. |

My comment was more so that if he did have rights, the deadline to file for arbitration has past, I thought it had to be done by a certain date, so even if he was eligible, it was too late. I could be wrong though? |
