What a joke of a team Toronto is! Tavares is a born loser. Matthews decides he too sick to play, way to tough it out for the team kid! And Marner is an absolute no show. Marner is soft! There is a difference between regular season hockey and playoff hockey, and Marner can put up points in the regular season, but come playoff time, he is an absolute cream puff; couldn't win a puck battle to save his life. Even Nylander is calling Marner out on the bench. There is talk he will be available after yet another first round loss to the Bruins, and if so I sincerely hope the Flyers want nothing to do with him. Not close to worth the price tag. |

flyers better lock up tk now...he is the type you build around and win with. tk at 9 million > marner at any cost.
it would be dumb to give up what it would take to acquire him. especially where the flyers are at. Then when he gets an ext will there be a raise off his 12 million? same or less? he is not a guy I want to pay 12 million too. |

Marner is just as much of a no show as Nylander and Matthews. That team, as a whole, is not built for playoff hockey. Too many finesse players and not enough depth. Boston, on the other hand, is well-balanced with stars such as Pasta, McAvoy and their goalies, and fantastic depth. As much as I hate Marchand he is a modern day Claude Lemieux, built internally for playoff hockey. |

He gets what it takes to win at all costs and he lays it on the line every night in the playoffs. He is what a captain is supposed to be! He would be revered in Philly if he was wearing the orange and black instead of the black and gold. He's been an absolute stud in this series although licking guys faces was really strange...glad he finally figured out that wasn't a good look. |

depth seems fine to me: bertuzzi domi knies robertoson holmberg. Even last year their depth was good.
for whatever reason their dynamic just doesn't work. need a new coach, somewhat revamped D and a change or 2 up front. |

Reggie Leach scored 61 goals in a season - how long has it been since the team had a 40 goal scorer? 50?
Yet fans think this team doesn't need offensive players like Mitch Marner - corduroy Marner is a soft 11 MIL a season player and he is more of a playmaker. No thanks! Now you want to talk Matthews or Nylander I might listen.

I said like; But who needs a player that pots 30 and assists on 60 others?
Last Flyer to score 40? 50?

as what, a 30 goal scorer? 40 goals?
Tippet on a contender would be lucky to pot 20-25 due to decreased ice time.

My guess without looking would be Carter (46) and Leclair (51).

All 4 of the core are not getting it done. At least Matthews plays a full game, and to be fair Nylander has only played one game. Taveras looks shot and Marner just looks lost. If the epic collapse continues TO has really no other alternative but to make some substantial changes….yes the Flyers need elite talent, but there’s 4 elite players that don’t fit.
They are hard to watch….Marchand is just running the show….and the Leafs answer is to send a meathead like Bertuzzi to try and neutralize him…predictable but he’s getting schooled by the master rat. |

Their depth guys are playing well…or at least holding their own….but the studs on TO have not played well, yet again and the goaltending is really a difference maker…. |

How about Keefe’s coaching?….down 3-1 with 3 minutes left on Saturday night he rolled out Reaves for a 45 second shift….people around here would lose their collective minds if Torts did that with D Low.
He so far has refused to put Marner and Matthews back together, except on the PP….although he finally double shifted Matthews a few times late in the game. |

Scared is a tad hyperbole. But he he definitely does not want to engage in the battle. It’s noticeable when you have guys like Domi and Bertuzzi at least willing to do it. |
