Looking at the moves the Pens have made as a body of work makes me wonder how good Rutherford is at being a GMer.

Rutherford is pure garbage. You can say what you want about the Haglan trade, but up until yesterday he had 1 goal. Also take into account that he still has 3 years left on his contract. With the cap possibly going down next year, this was not a wise move.

Rutherford keeps throwing crap against the wall and hoping something sticks. I hope for the sake of the franchise they move away from him after the season.

Trading Sutter (wanting $4M+) for Bonino/Clendening.
Signing Cullen and Fehr to Great deals.
Trading Scuderi for Daley.
Trading Perron (who didn't Fit at all) for a fast Hagelin.
Trading a 3rd Pick for J.Schultz with 50% retained.

That's pretty good I'd say.

We still have a couple moves to make..

Hagelin may have had only 1 goal before yest with the Pens, but if u watch he is a diff maker big time...when paired with Kessel, they are dangerous....that was a great trade, Hagelin is flat out good and very fast

one move no one talks about is why in the heck he let Taylor Chorney walk...head scratcher, he played great last year in Rangers playoff series...

Fehr has been hurt.

Haglan had 1 goal up until yesterday. For a top 6 forward I don't think that cut it.

Everyone has their own opinion, and I think he is garbage.

Chorney was excelent In the Playoffs. I guess Scuderi was the problem In the numbers game. We could've signed Chorney for less than $0.8M too.

The Flyers are right with the Penguins in the race, the teams play each other quite a few more times, and yet the Flyers are showcasing and taking calls on Sam Gagner and Mark Streit. They traded away Lecavalier and Luke Schenn a month ago, getting nothing really but cap space in return.

Trading Lecavalier was addition by subtraction. After a productive start in LA, Lecavalier has just 3 points in February and his underlying numbers are garbage.

The Flyers under Hextall can actually see that it's foolish to waste assets to make moderate improvements to a bubble team. Dealing Gagner gets them an asset for a guy who isn't in the future plans and won't make a big enough impact now to help them make a deep playoff run.

Without Geno Shags is a lost dog. Hopefully Geno never gets injured again because that line is very dynamic & dangerous when everyone is fit & healthy. I'm still unsure leaning to the bad side unless Shags can keep scoring & setting up plays with his speed. For 4m guy has to be able to score without Geno though me thinks.
