as Suter needs to have his minutes reduced a bit to get a greater return from him
- Dan Wallace

He's been bad lately from what I've seen - looks slower and less compete in his game. I'm not sure if it's fatigue or he's playing a little hurt, but I agree, reduce his minutes.

torch 6-3 after a win tonight.. not bad considering the mess he was handed.. time to make it 7-1- ! over the last two seasons.. hope varly plays tonight he's been terrible this year, plus our inability to score on backups don't want to see pickard

Playing the entirety of power plays has got to stop as well, especially when he's whiffing on one-timers or shattering sticks attempting to do so.
He needs to go back to focusing on being the shutdown defender that made him being so successful in this league. I don't know whether it's him or the coaching staff, but someone's trying to turn him into an offensive dman and it's not working

i don't think they're trying to turn him into an offensive dman, they'd have him on the flank if that were true.. he's the pivot not the shooter and we really don't have a good choice beyond suter at the pivot.. rielly looks sketchy at best so far there, spurg is ok but suter is still the best option at this time.. the only reason i see for taking him off the pivot is to lessen his TOI to improve his dzone play..

Hey, Fathmarsh is my friend. Don't talk about him that way without him being here to defend himself.

Tonight at the Xcel, the battle between to average teams for the chance to play 4 to 5 meaningless and embarrassing playoff games against the Hawks. Consolation prize is a slightly better draft pick position.

I think it's more him than the coaching staff. If I remember correctly, he was pretty disappointed in his season last year, especially offensively, and I think he's trying to do more in that area. It's not a terrible thing that he wants to contribute more, but I think his determination to do so is a detriment to the the team at times. It wouldn't annoy me so much if they had no other capable offensive defensemen.

He's slow, has a decent shot and doesn't do much else. So he'll fit in perfectly

He's actually not. That was one of the upsides to his game. Streaky as anything though... Hopefully you get him on his scoring streak...

Hmmm I've read a couple of posts stating otherwise, but I'll take your word. Does he use his size much, whether it be for getting in front of the night or checking?

Good on the forecheck, does use his size just inconsistent. At 4 mill, it just wasn't worth keeping him, especially where we are. I liked him just too big a contract.
