Why even a need to fix the trade deadline?

The only thing that needs to be fixed is rumor guys and the media to not make a spectacle out of it. There was plenty of trades in the past month, just not a ton of teams waiting till the last minute. People are getting smarter. If you need to make the playoffs or want to get further in it...get your guy early so the team can gel. If you are selling, then be reasonable with your prices and get those done earlier.

Seems like as fair a guess as any that 2 metro teams will take the wild card. If Boston simply maintains the lead it has right now, it is in. Plus it is hardly a crazy guess anyways. Out of the 6 teams hanging around those wild card spots (or third in their division) 4 of them are Metro teams. You don't need a huge statistical breakdown to say the Metro division has a good shot at having a lot of playoff teams this season.

The Flyers might not want to make the playoffs either, but the Devils dealt way their top scorer are trailing Philly and have played two more games...thats why I didn't include them
