Although I do think physical play has at least some effect on the Pens, I thought the overwhelming problem was being gassed from playing the night before. In the last 5 minutes they didn't have the legs to put on a push.

I'm probably going to get some heat, but I still think Geno needs to clean up details in his game. He can't be the guy leading our team in PM's. It's ridiculous and I feel he cost us a point at minimum.

I 100% agree with you. it is not that he is our biggest penalty getter. he is it by FAR

random observation. Its so weird that guys like Hornqvist (and Adams was the same way) are jacked and can battle through a beating, but they always seem to get destroyed. They get laid out. And when they try to check someone, they are the ones hitting the ice.

Checking in hockey is just odd in terms of who is good at and who isnt.

I agree with you in general that Malkin takes too many penalties, especially bad ones, but I do not agree in regards to last night. Malkin's penalty maybe was a little careless, maybe. But it's hard for me to blame a guy too much for a high sticking penalty when Oshie was the main factor behind Malkin's stick getting lifted and hitting Oshie in the face. That is an inadvertent penalty that unfortunately just happens sometime.

Whats the problem with that NBC Kenny Alberts guy? The game ended and the first thing the guy does is say Crosby had 0 shots and Malkin was in the box for the Caps game winning goal.

Again, I don't really think he's wrong in implying that. Bad penalty taken by Geno, and Sid couldn't generate any offense.

Bodychecking a guy is just like punching a jaw, you pick out a spot behind what you are going to hit and aim for that spot. Some guys and peewees (where we start teaching) can figure it out, some can't. Kaspar was one of the best and OV does it with his big frame. End result is a solid and sometimes devastating hit.

Don't know your situation or if you played contact hockey, but this is essentially how I played and how the ADM is now taught.
