Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Beat Themselves vs. Islanders, The Real Hamhuis Story? The Vancouver Canucks were their own worst enemies on Tuesday night, giving up three own goals in their loss to the New York Islanders.

Wow! You'd consider parting with Ben Hutton for Hamonic!

This! Changes! Everything!

I wouldn't trade Ben for Hamonic.

In fairness both Carolina & Devils had about 3 to 4 more games played then the teams they were chasing. Both teams pretty much had no shot at making the playoffs regardless. Shocked you guys didn't trade your UFA's

Thanks Carol!

I know people are wanting JV to get time with the twins, but I liked Etem with them. The first couple shifts were a bit awkward, as you can see he was adjusting to their cycle game, but after a while he looked quite a bit more comfortable. He looks like he moves his hands too quickly and the Sedins would be good to calm him and show him to be a bit smoother and relaxed with the puck. He has the speed and size that could be a good compliment to the twins and deserves more than a short-notice 1 game stint

I'm still hoping Hamonic changes his mind and stays. Neither tanev, edler or hutton, imo, are enough to replace him.

I don't believe anything from Botchford, he should be with Erin Sebula on Entertainment Tonight.

I don't see how Van is in the running at all, I imagine the Wild and Jets are the most likely with Edmonton or Calgary as well being possible destinations.

I agree, although Mackenzie said basically the same thing and is someone I do give more credibility too.

Vancouver is marginally closer to Winnipeg than Brooklyn is; The Canucks aren't trading the Sedins, Virtanen, Horvat or their first round pick, and I don't see anything else the Canucks have that would be more enticing than what the Oilers will (or at least should) be offering; plus the Jets have their own Trouba problem that could be a match for Hamonic.

There might be 2 Canucks fans that are delusional enough to A) think we have the assets to land Hamonic without giving up a ton and B) think he would choose the Canucks when geographically, it makes WAY more sense to him personally to play for Winnipeg/EDM/Cal.
So I am really not quite sure who you are arguing with, we are all kind of agreeing with you.

Just asking, but how far away is Van to Manitoba?

Like 3-4 hours by plane, I'm guessing. Pretty sure NY is closer.
