Thanks Todd! If we are really evaluating for next year, can we not flip Jesper B. and Wood? I like Wood as a player, but as a fourth liner until his shot can be fine tuned.

Hughes out and Bratt unlikely, Rooney, Hayden and Mueller in. Blackwood is going to have to stand on his head just to keep this one close. Got a feeling we get crushed tonight.

I am disappointed that they didn't give Boqvist a look on the top line in Bratt's spot.

I also would like to have seen Mcleod again or Bastian called up.

Yeah, I really don't get it with McLeod. He hasn't been terrible in the few looks that he's gotten and they invested pick #11 in him a few years back. Guy can absolutely fly, has decent hands and has above average defensive skills. Why not give him a good look during a lost season instead of letting him waste away in Binghamton. Frustrating when you see a guy like Rooney whose ceiling is probably AHL or 13th forward get so much more playing time than him.

I saw that Bing has won 4 games in a row, maybe they couldn't afford to let him go now? I can't see an AHL need taking precedence but in second to last place maybe I can.

Would have been nice to see someone who hasnt been given their oppertunities already but I guess we just dont have any one ready...

How many drafts have we had in a row where we had more then the standard number of picks ? And we are still stuck calling up career ahl guys.

Hopefully next year a good 5 to 6 of our prospects make the jump to being relied upon for regular call ups instead of it being a 29 year old AHL journeyman.

Any one know if the echl team is any good and are we using it as a development league like some teams have started doing ala Toronto.

Looking at the d market for the deadline and it should be pretty easy to get a first for Vats at the deadline if we choose to move him.

Has to be near or at the top of the pile of d who could be available.

I dont understand what we are doing with McLeod. I don't pay too close attention to the Binghamton team so I'm not sure if he hasn't been progressing or if we are just butchering his development. He's going to be 22 and hasn't played in the nhl consistently, on a rebuilding team, at that. To me it seems like he's going to be a 4th liner or a regular ahler.

It's just odd that they wouldn't put Zacha back and center and promote a different player to wing.

Zacha looked good flanking Hughes from what I remember, and he has been on and off the LW slot this year so its not too crazy I guess.

Also apparently Street is the points leader in the Bing so him as a call up isn't too ridiculous. That 4th line will be interesting lol.

Its what we have for the night so Lets see what they have! If they win this I will poop.

Go Devils!

Both teams playing fast and loose and getting good goaltending. At the very least it's exciting.

Refs miss the blatant tripping on Severson then call it a good goal when their player blatantly trips the goalie. What is this?

I don't understand what these idiots are actually looking at during the play.

Let's say that it isn't tripping, even though it is, all the time goals are called back because of incidental contact. So why is this still a good goal after the contact? The player clearly interferes with the goalies ability to make a save. Horrible officiating all around.

This team doesn’t know how to develop talent. Nico and Hughes are #1 picks, even NJ can’t screw them up completely, they’ll still be good players in spite of. But it wasn’t DeBoer or Hynes, it’s this team, their system...or lack thereof. They’re just symptoms of a deeper organizational problem. We’ve all gotten to see flashes in a pan, but nothing that has stuck. NJ is where young players come to get their careers stunted. It’s inexplicable. Especially for a team trying to rebuild. This develop elsewhere then bring them to the NHL after they’ve developed is outdated or simply doesn’t work in NJ. If a guy has the will, work-ethic, talent to succeed he will. Playing McLeod in AHL does nothing to show if he can play at NHL level. This team is trash and still at the beginning of a rebuild. Play him at the NHL level. Where better to learn the NHL game? Or, Richard around with him over and over and play guys like Rooney and Hayden. Who clearly are not longterm solutions at the NHL level. We thought coaching changes, GM changes would fix it. Conte is gone. Different scouts. I don’t know...NJ is trash for developing young players.

I cant disagree with any of that. I cant seem to figure out what it is though. Before we blamed Debour and Lou because they preferred vets. Now we have a new gm and coach in Hynes and it's same poop. Shero seems to say the right things but then goes and hires a coach that proves he isn't the right fit on young team and allows the coaching staff to play guys like Rooney and Hayden over young guys. It's confusing to say the least.
