Earlier this month, we speculated on which players would still be able to get a one-year contract from interested teams and which would have to roll the dice on a professional tryout.

Over the last two weeks, we’ve seen the Boston Bruins take two off our list and go the PTO route with veteran Blake Wheeler and Kailer Yamamoto, Vancouver with Cup winner Sammy Blais, Pittsburgh with former Sharks blueliner Nikolai Knyzhov, Tampa Bay with Logan Brown, and Washington with Jakub Vrana.

Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli is saying that three teams are willing to sign veteran winger Max Pacioretty to a one-year deal, and I’m hearing one of the teams interested in the Connecticut native is the Islanders.

The Isles are right at the cap, so GM Lou Lamoriello may have to clear some space to sign the 35-year-old.
