Things are starting to heat up nicely in the NHL. Rumors are finally coming to the forefront as teams are starting to fine tune and many are wanting to get some business done before the Four Nations on February 12.
On the Bruins:
With Cam Neely coming out and saying that the team is likely to do some rretooling, there is suddenly a big push to fill holes. I’m hearing Yanni Gourde from Seattle to add some depth to the center position. I was also told that just because the Bruins are making some statements like this, don’t expect them to be sellers…The Toronto Maple Leafs also have interest in Yanni Gourde, especially with a recent injury to Jonathan Tavares.
On the Oilers:
Edmonton will have some cap space when they put Evander Kane on LTIR. Provorov, from Columbus, is one option who is on the radar for some toughness as well as more help on defense…. He would definitely add some toughness on the defensive side, ,which is needed and was lacking last year in the Stanley Cup final against Florida….
On the Flyers:
The Flyers are listening to everything right now, and there may surprisingly be a couple of teams interested in goalie Sam Ersson…. I’m not sure if these teams have contacted the Flyers yet with any offers, but he become a little more popular as we get closer to the deadline. Ersson has shown himself very capable of being a 1A goalie at the least… the Flyers also currently carrying three goalies…. Also keep an eye out on Ersson for Team Sweden , as Ulmark’s injury ssituation is getting worse….
On Elias Pettersson and JT Miller…
Was told there are a lot of discussions regarding EP40. Some teams include: Montreal, Detroit, New Jersey, and The New York Rangers……. it feels like JT Miller is still the more likely player to be moved out of Vancouver, but due to his NMC we are looking at two teams basically… the Rangers and the Devils…
More to come…
