There is really only one rookie of the year this season in my opinion.

Montreal Canadiens’ rookie Lane Hutson is not just my pick for rookie of the year, but he is up there among ALL NHL defenseman. There will NEVER be another Team USA that doesn’t include Lane Hutson…He should have been on this year’s team.

Hutson currently sits tied for 5th in scoring among ALL NHL defenseman with Victor Hedman. He is 4th in assists…. But perhaps more crazy is he is the only D-man in the top ten averaging less than 23 minutes played per game. Many others are in the 25 or 26 Minutes realm.

And here is the kicker….

He set a record for points by a rookie defenseman in Montreal Canadiens history.

AND many say he is the MVP of the Habs… who currently sits in a playoff spot.
A Canadiens team almost EVERYONE picked to finish last in the division..
