ha ha ha, did I ever fool you guys into believing that my picks for first round series winners were actually right, I got you all. I was joking, they weren't my picks at all! 2 out of 8, come on, who in their right mind would only be 2 out of 8...Sorry...I was drinking when I made my predictions and I let my 3 year old son choose the winners and give me his reasons why each team would win. I can't believe how easily Buffalo man handled the Flyers. I believe they took advantage of a big slow team that couldn't grasp the new rules. Shorthanded for the entire series didn't help the Flyers cause. Ottawa on the other had a pretty tough opponent in Tampa but poor goaltending at times hurt the Lightning. The Senators are so deep and can score on almost any shift...Havlat, Spezza, Heatley, Chara, Alfredsson, Redden,,,,etc are going to out play, not out work, a a surprising Sabres team...

CAR vs NJ
Great job by two great coaches that have their teams ranked 2 and 3 in the Eastern Conference. Carolina has a great leader in Brindamour. New Jersey has one in Marty Brodeur. Carolina is coming off a series in which they squeaked by the Koivu-less Habs in 6 games on the shoulders of a rookie goalie in Cam Ward. Devils absolutely destroyed the NY Rangers in convincing style 4 games to 0 and are riding a 15 game unbeaten streak. Devils too hot and too confident...in 5 or 6.

SAN JOSE vs EDM
MVP Joe Thornton and his Shark posse have a challenge in front of them with the Oilers playing great hockey at not a bad time. Proving that hard work and dedication to winning overcomes lack of talent is one reason why I'm scared of the Oilers. Still can't trust Roloson and Marleau is hot giving me reason that Pronger can shut down the Thornton line but who stops Marleau...Sharks in 7
ANA vs COL
Good news for the Avalanche was that Turco was worse than Theodore in the 1rst round. Badnews for the Avalanche is they are facing the Devils of the west and Scott Neidemeyer, not to mention a pretty hot goalie in Ilya Bryzgalov. Can Sakic and Blake preform heroics in round two and make me look foolish again...I hope not...Ducks in 6
