Well, well, well, how have we all been? I haven't written for a while cause I was on my sabbatical and enjoying some time to reflect on life and this beautiful game that we all love and hate...hockey. We love hockey if you lived in Detroit this year but probably weren't so fond of it if you lived in St. Louis. I live in Montreal and had the opportunity to watch the game from a different seat then my usual ones ( I never played in the second or third periods of an important game so I always had the best seat in the house...front row, left bench beside the back up goaltender andin front ofthe stick rack). I got to hang out in bars and restaurants and hear what the "fan" says to other fans that they wouldn't say to the player of a team. I was always a player on the team so I never heard much besides, "good game, you almost touched the puck" or "nice try tonight, your skating is improving" and of course "better luck next time!" This year I heard everything from what's wrong with this guy and that guy and why the power play doesn't work and this guy's a bum and this guy is out of shape and the coach sucks and we'll never win here and our owners don't care and yadyayadyadyadyadyady..............etc. BUT in Montreal we do have something that is worth discussing. Christobal Huet is #1 in save percentage, 3rd in GAA and 2nd in shut outs in the league but Bob Gainey's man seems to be David Aebischer who's numbers with Montreal are 7gp, 4 w, 3 l, with a .892 save % and a GAA of 3.73.I find myself getting involved in this discussion whereever I go. I can't seem to come up with any answers for why Bob is going this way. One reason is that Aebischer has playoff experience, a whopping 11 games. The last time the habs entered the playoffs with a rookie goalie they did okay...Stanley Cup Champs in '86 with agoalie with zero games experience, you might have heard of him...Patrick Roy. The only way to get experience is to GET experience. The fans in Montreal will breath a lot easier once the Habsare in the playoffs but until then it's back tothese guys suck and this guy could do better and he doesn't work out hard and ghaifidfsdsj....etc!!
