The Toronto Maple Leafs announced their new ECHL affiliation with the Cincinnati Cyclones beginning next season. The Cyclones replace the Newfoundland Growlers, who had served as the club’s ECHL affiliate from 2018 to 2024 before ceasing operations prior to this past season’s end.

"We are excited to embark on this new partnership with the Cincinnati Cyclones," Leafs GM Brad Treliving said in a press release. "This is a significant investment for our hockey club as we look to provide our players with the best resources available to support their growth and professional development."

The Cyclones have been in the ECHL since 1990 and have previously been affiliated to the Montreal Canadiens, Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators, and Buffalo Sabres

In addition to the Maple Leafs’ draft picks in attendance, the roster will include three players signed to an NHL contract (Braeden Kressler, Jacob Quillan, Cade Webber) and five players signed to AHL contracts (Matthew Barbolini, Jacob Bengtsson, Chas Sharpe, Marko Sikic, Sam Stevens).

Additionally, the Maple Leafs have a total of 22 free agents attending this year’s camp.
