It's not fair to expect ANYTHING from an 18 year old playing on a very
mediocre team. However, that will not be the case and we all know
it. I would venture a guess that if Crosby can learn throughout
his initial season in the NHL, he will show plenty. Last night's
highlight move after stealing the puck showed his imminent promise, but
ended in a turnover of his own that ended in the Pittsburgh net.
There will be plenty of those moments I suspect. However, if he's
not EXPECTED to save the franchise on a nightly basis, I would think it
could be a very pleasant surprise.
Just remember, the word potential, in sports at least, just means you haven't done anything,........yet.
