If you’re not active on social media, or simply missed it, this is my last day as the New Jersey Devils writer for Hockeybuzz (I’m staying on for the Flames and hotstoves, though).
It’s a really bittersweet feeling for me.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m ecstatic about launching my own Devils site (
stay tuned to @InfernalAccess on Twitter), but I’m also sad to leave the Devils behind at Hockeybuzz.
I have spent nine full years writing about the team here. Nine years! I was a 16-year-old kid when Eklund and the higher ups took a chance on me. Now...well, I’m not a kid.
There have been so many highs and lows during that time. From the Stanley Cup run, to ugly departures for Ilya Kovalchuk and Zach Parise, to the Taylor Hall trade, to multiple lottery wins, so many big things have happened.
Through it all, I was here writing hundreds of articles per year and you were right there with me. For that, I say thank you.
While I obviously hope you will continue to read and support my Devils work, I understand some of you can or will not.
I don’t know who will be replacing me as the Devils writer but I’m sure it will be someone very capable. I know HB thinks highly of its Devils community – that’s part of the reason I was here for so long – and will do everything they can to make sure there is good content for you to read.
