Here's the latest installment of Rimer's Rumors Draft Edition!!
Dion Phaneuf - The Toronto Maple Leafs have been talking with a handful of teams about Phaneuf in hopes of moving up in the draft. The latest rumor I keep hearing is the Oilers and Leafs discussing a deal that would send Dion and the number 8 pick to the Edmonton Oilers for the number 3 pick. Then moving the number 3 pick with another player for the number 1 pick to take Ekblad.
Paul Stastny - Don't be suprised if Paul ends up in either Nashville or St. Louis. In Nashville he has a really good connection with Team USA guys David Poile and Peter Laviolette. St. Louis is also a possibility as he loved growing up there when his dad Peter played for the Blues.
Joe Thornton - guys he's not going anywhere.
Patrick Marleau - I can see Patrick getting moved. Could the Sharks movie Marleau for Spezza?
Patrick Sharp - with the rumors of Patrick Kane & Jonathan Toews on the verge of signing contracts making around $12 million per year, you gotta think a guy like Patrick Sharp could be on the move. Even though his agent Rick Curran denies it would happen, there's not much else they could move out. Can't see them trading Keith or Seabrook. Looks like Sharp could be the odd man out.
PK Subban - Subban and his agent Don Meehan are scheduled to meet with the Montreal Canadiens. PK is going no where. I expect him to sign in the $7-8 million dollar per year range at some point in early July.
Chad Larose - Chad is making a comeback after taking a year off hockey. Chad has been skaing all summer long in hopes of landing an NHL Job. I can see Chad signing in Detroit.
