Cats Fall In Montreal, Headed To TOR |

Someone needs to change the Florida Panthers Wikipedia page to reflect the Montreal Canadiens as the Panthers’ owner because the Cats lost ro MTL in each of their matchups this season.
Florida won’t have time to lick their wounds, as they play the second of a back-to-back tonight when they take on the 45-25-4 Toronto Maple Leafs.
TOR is crushing right now. They are first in the Atlantic Division and playing some very good hockey.
As
Winners and Whinners points out:
“
The Maple Leafs are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.26 goals per game with 18 goals in the last four games. Mitch Marner and William Nylander have scored 65 goals and 105 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Auston Matthews, John Tavares, and Matthew Knies have combined for 89 goals and 97 assists while defensemen Morgan Rielly and Oliver Ekman-Larsson have added 11 goals and 53 assists from the point to open up the offense.
The offense has stepped up but the defense has also been great, allowing only 2.93 goals per game with only three goals in the last two games. Chris Tanev and Jake McCabe have combined for 8.8 defensive point shares while Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Simon Beniot have combined for 6.3 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Anthony Stolarz has stepped up with a .919 save percentage and a 2.35 goals-against average on 819 shots with 15.8 goals saved above average.”
Hey, it’s easy to become negative about the Panthers as of late. They’re playing a pretty dumpy brand of hockey. But let’s remember that Florida is still a the top of the league.
Getting a win tonight, in a game that is certainly a playoff preview, will be a big boost back in the right direction.
