Last night’s loss to Toronto seemed to show a disinterested pre season team waiting for opening day (and the red carpet). Tonight may see the players who are going to leave everything on the ice to try and grab a job. Full disclosure, it doesn’t look (opinion) like any prospects will grab a job but it seems like Kasper and Mazur are likely on top of the call up list. Edvinsson looks to be playing again along with MBn.
In terms of PTO, Watson is an interesting case. He certainly offers something the roster lacks but will end up putting someone on waivers (unless an injury opens a spot temporarily). The team has two more kicks to get ready for preseason and it’s likely waivers will be posted tomorrow. Brandsegg-Nygard’s fate is still a bit up in the air while Sandin-Pellikka had a beauty of a goal as MBN’s potential European team is already a few games into their season. It seems like Detroit wants this year’s first rounder to play in North America but we won’t know for sure until everything has settled.
Let me know if you think Watson has a chance to put someone on the waiver wire and what you think tonight’s effort is going to look like. The squad tonight has players looking at their last preseason opportunity to make an impression. We’ll see if that translates into on ice battling.
