9 points for the top line. 4 for Raymond, 3 for Kasper and 2 for Larkin. Soderblom knocked home his first and Debrincat struck on the 5 on 3. The first period felt like it may not go well after Seider accidentally knocked the puck in his own net off of a D zone faceoff and the Kings went up 2-0. The score very nearly became 3-0, but the next goal came from Detroit’s scoring MVP in Lucas Raymond. There was a net mouth scramble and the winger caught a rebound point blank and backhanded it in. From there, Detroit would score 4 more goals.
Soderblom has been playing hard, it was good to see him rewarded tonight. Kasper’s first goal of the night was a hard working, get your own rebound, jump to the puck and knock it in goal. His confidence seems to be growing more and more with the change behind the bench.
Soderblom’s first saw the 6’8” winger skate in and knock in a puck from very near the same spot the Raymond scored. That vulcanized beauty has tape and sharpie ink on it now. Sure to be seen on a mantle or in a man cave. (Correction, not Soderblom’s first NHL goal. My fault. Thanks to blueline for the heads up)
Let me know your thoughts on the game, check out the video above. I put together a compilation of all 5 goals and hope you enjoy it!
1st Period goals:
At 14:50 LAK opened the scoring. 1-0 LAK
At 17:17 LAK scores again, but it was Seider who mishandled the puck and put it in net after a Dzone faceoff. Ouch. 2-0 LAK
At 17:40 Lucas Raymond got Detroit on the board with his 20th of the season.
At 10:05 Kasper added to the lead with another point for Raymond on the assist. Kasper and Johansson have both benefitted greatly from the changes behind the bench. Great to see. 4-2 Wings
