In looking at trades in the last entry, it’s difficult to find the right value for what Detroit needs and would be willing to part with the associated price tag. There is also a potential competitive camp with Sandin-Pellikka, Tuomisto, Wallinder, Buchelnikov (if current KHL deal bought out), Lombardi and Danielson. At some point you move to part with prospects and picks to get a boost and the trio of Kasper/Lombardi/Danielson may present a player that another team could be looking for.

Elias Pettersson’s name is still being floated but cap space and asking price may be just too far out of reach. Seth Jones is open to being moved but wants to win and isn’t necessarily performing at the current salary. Lafreniere has been floated as the Rangers are looking for more scoring and the former top pick may be getting Kakko’d out of town.

At this point, a callup/tryout in case of injury or just to see if a Tuomisto or Wallinder can grab a spot on the 3rd pairing is a low risk proposition. Lombardi just needs to get healthy, would likely have been a call up at some point. As always, let me know your thoughts. Feels like a seller’s market and may be best to let it pass unless something comes down the chimney (hide the cookies).
