The Columbus Blue Jackets add to the depth of their roster with the additions of forward Dylan Gambrell and defenseman Jack Johnson both to one year league minimum contracts.

Gambrell, 27, is an NHL veteran from the San Jose Sharks that played that last few seasons a Ottawa. His most recent stint was with the Marlies. In 233 career games, the center has 40 points.

Johnson, 35, returns to Columbus after winning his cup with Colorado. Signing on his wedding anniversary is a sweet story too. Was a big fan of him back in the days of Dubi, Fligs, and Bob as the core in Columbus.

Steve Mears is the new play by play commentator for the Jackets replacing the retired Rimer. Mears was bumped from Pitt last season from tv to radio after a lengthy stint at the NHL Network. Glad he is getting a new opportunity.
