The Trois-Rivieres Lions hosted the Norfolk Admirals (Winnipeg Jets) on Wednesday at Colisee Videotron, followed by a road game against the Maine Mariners (Boston Bruins) on Sunday.

Friday: Norfolk Admirals 5 - Trois-Rivieres Lions 4 (shootout)

The matchup against the Admirals at Colisee Videotron resembled more to ping pong than hockey. The teams took turns exchanging goals during the 60-minute regulation. Tyler Hylland, Anthony Beauregard, and twice Morgan Adams-Moisan scored for the home team. The Admirals canceled a one-goal lead four times during the three periods. It remained a draw until the seventh round in the shootout when Luke Cavallin was beaten for the first time.

Sunday: Trois-Rivieres Lions 4 - Maine Mariners 2

The visitors struck first as Adams-Moisan redirected Wyatt McLeod’s shot behind the goalie. The Mariners tied it before the intermission and in the second, Adams-Moisan and Beauregard created a two-goal lead. In the third period, Alex Beaucage drove to the net and blasted the puck in the net to extend his point streak to nine-games, totaling 14 points during the sequence. A late goal by Maine cut the lead to two goals.

Roster News

The ECHL unveiled the 2024-25 All-Star rosters on Wednesday, and the Lions had a league high four representatives. Ron Choules was named coach of the Eastern Conference and he accompanied by forwards Jakov Novak and Alex Beaucage, and defensemen Chris Jandric rounds out the selections.

Xavier Cormier was suspended three games and fined an undisclosed amount by the league for a boarding incident during the January 19th matchup against the Admirals. He will be eligible to return on January 31st.
