The Rangers are in town for what has become a bit of a traditional Black Friday Matinee and it got me thinking...
As a fan, what is the Flyers Rival I have hated the most?
Since I am old I have two from my childhood that truly I despised at different points...
First there was Sandstrom and Rangers of the 80s....I still don't know how Beezer saw that shot that ended one Flyer's playoffs...I got to ask him while covering a Cup Final and he actually remembered the shot immediately. He said he didn't see it. Just threw up his glove and wham...I told hm that answer didn't make me feel any better...
And in the 90s and 00s there was Claude Lemieux and the Devils. And that shot that beat Hextall low waffle side..Will never forget that one in the Spectrum. and the silence that followed..
I know the Penguins have been the key rival for some time now, but I remember a time they could't win in Philly for many, many years..
