Hey there…Quick note.. I created a Hockeybuzz League in the NHL Bracket challenge! I will be sending a trophy to the winner. Join by 7pm on NHL.com and search leagues for Hockeybuzz.

The Flyers will be interviewing Brad Shaw next week for the head coaching job. There’s no question needed well in his stent as interim coach, and I could see the Flyers keeping him on as an assistant coach, but it’s not likely he lands the head coach spot.

You really need someone with more head coaching experience to mold this very complicated group of young players, along with merging in a lot of talent that will come via UFA or trade in the summer.

I have absolutely no knock on Shaw. But I think even he would admit that him taking over, when the team had nothing left to play for, combined with the pressure release valve that was released when Tortorella was let go, was just a temporary fix. The players love him. He’s a fantastic person. So you can expect the players to back him.

As an assistant coach or more friendly with the players. You often find yourself playing the good cop to the head coach’s bad cop. And believe me when I say he played a lot of good cop over the last couple years to a times keep a mutiny from happening.

But that’s just the way I see it…. Your comments appreciated.
