Team USA lost to Team Finland, 5-3, in World Junior Summer Showcase action on Wednesday at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. The teams traded off two goals apiece early in the first period. The Finns pulled ahead, 3-2, midway through regulation and then built a 4-2 lead. The Americans drew within one goal attacking 6-on-5 late in the third period. Finland added an empty net goal to seal the final outcome.

Flyers power forward prospect Noah Powell, starting at fourth-line right wing for the Americans, was OK after being boarded in the neutral zone by fellow Flyers prospect Heikki Ruohonen. Powell, who later connected on a heavy hit on Ruohonen in response, made a nice setup play to goal scorer Chris Pelosi on the first USA goal of the day.

In three games played to date, both Powell and Ruohonen have two assists apiece. Ruohonen, Finland's third-line center, did not record a point on Wednesday.

Flyers' prospect Oliver Bonk was on right defense on Team Canada's second line pairing against Sweden on Wednesday. Jack Berglund started for Team Sweden. Sweden won via shootout, 3-2.

Fellow Flyers Prospects Jett Luchanko, Denver Barkey, Carter Sotheran and Carson Bjarnason were in Team Canada's non-game group practice.
