IF IT WAS SPEZZA IT'D BE DIFFERENT |

90% of all Canadian callers, almost all XM guys (except Boomer Gordon, thank goodness), and many Canadian broadcasters are all rallying to Neil's defense in the wake of the Drury hit. I find that very curious.
But too many people can't handle the assertion, so they attack me for being down on Canadians. I'm not. That would be silly for a hockey guy, wouldn't it? I've spent a lot of time in Canada. I just think that in this case, objectivity is out the window.
If it was Spezza, not Drury, it'd be about half calling it a "clean hit" and half calling it a "dirty hit."
Oh Canada - give this dumb American a break and admit that it's a bit curious that almost all voices from the Great White North are siding with Neil.
This is just my estimation, though, and I have received some emails from Canadians who agree with me. But the tidal wave of support for Neil is downright WEIRD.
Now let's cut the "sensitivity" baloney and get down to answering the question: Do you or do you not think that the response from Canada would be different if it was Ryan Smyth, Jason Spezza, Mats Sundin, or some other player from a Canadian club? Does it strike you as odd that there's a bandwagon, or am I wrong in thinking that it's 90% pro-Neil?
