Without "Big Name" Trade, Ducks Rely on Young Second Line

MARCH 3, 2007 -- ANAHEIM, CA -- Surprisingly silent on a typically tumultuous trade deadline day, the Ducks’ choice not to trade for a top-six forward places the spotlight squarely on a trio of one rookie and two sophomores. If it works, and the Ducks progress far into the playoffs, GM Brian Burke’s foresight will be praised. If not, the absence of a “big name” acquisition will be the subplot of note.
