And we drowned. Big time. Despite the fact that many people out their are blaming tonight's lose on the refs I just can't agree. Yes, refs often times contribute to factors that change games but if you do not finish a game the way you started it often times you will fail.
Tonight the boys started out well and even Darren made the comment that a win vs. San Jose would break the record of our team losing in front of a sell out crowd. It seemed we would win the game until of course everything fell apart.
As I have said previously the Thrashers are a streaky team. When we are on a streak it gets broken. Tonight the winning streak was broken. Could this have been prevented? Of course but the Thrashers didn't take the neccesary steps to change the out come of the game. While the Moose did an okay job of finishing out the game I didn't feel like the defense was even at tonight's game.
A winning team is a team in which all units show up to play and tonight that was just not the case.
Since the game itself doesn't effect anything too serious except maybe egos I think the best thing to do would be to brush this one off and focus on Saturday vs. Pittsburgh which is a game I would not want to see us lose.
Until next time
