Welcome to Free Agency Day 2019 and happy Canada Day to all of you up north. The most exciting day of the summer is here and the Bruins are expected to make some moves despite a lack of cap space.

I will be updating the blog throughout the day as the Bruins news comes across the wire.

3:30pm

In a press release, the Bruins officially announce the signings of Clifton, Didier, Ritchie, Lagace, and Gaunce. They also announced the signing of forward Par Lindholm to a two-year contract with an annual cap hit of $880,000, and resigned Ryan Fitzgerald to a one-year, two-way contract with a cap hit of $700,000.

Depth, depth and more depth...

3:26pm

Another depth signing for the Bruins. Looks like Sweeney is trying to bring as many options to the table as a role on the Bruins fourth line is becoming an interesting competition to watch come training camp.

12:56pm

The Bruins add to the right wing position, but not the type of player they need. Ritchie has played 241 career games with 33 goals and 21 assists. The 26-year old hasn't broke 10 goals since scoring 16 in the 2016-17 season. Ritchie does bring size to the table at 6-foot-3 and 216 pounds.

12:37pm

Another depth move for Providence. Will push for playing time in goal for the P-Bruins, and could be an option should Rask or Halak get injured.

11:47am

No surprise here. Didn't think the Bruins had a chance of bringing Acciari back unless they moved some cap space. Similar to Tim Schaller last year, Acciari earned himself a nice little raise. As important as Acciari was to the Bruins' fourth line, they have a handful of players who can step in for Acciari. This loss shouldn't hurt at all.

11:44am

Smart move by Sweeney and company. Really liked what Clifton brought to the table this season and I thought he handled himself very well in the playoffs. With the emergence of Clifton, I expect the Bruins to try and move either John Moore or Kevan Miller.

11:25am

Didier is a 26-year old right shot defenseman who gives the Bruins some more defensive depth at the AHL level.
