Nikita Gusev currently is low-key one of the biggest names available in free agency and there's a lot going on right now.

First of all - the multiple reports have surfaced that Gusev and Vegas Golden Knights have around 2,000,000$ between the price that is desired by either party.

As I reported prior today - Gusev wants around 4mil per season, while reports out of Russia suggest that he's looking for a two-year deal.

So that's a grand total of 8mil for his first legit contract without even playing a game. Knights are very tight with their cap space and it looks like both parties are looking for other options.

While there's no trade request been made or permission given to speak with other teams - many franchises have their ears up and listening. As suggested by a source that is familiar with the situation there is ''significant interest'' in Gusev and many suitors to give him what he desires.

To add furthermore - if and when Gusev leaves for another NHL team this would likely draw a big red line for Vegas in terms of any future KHL top talent to even consider them. (In foreseeable future).

First, they mishandled Shipachyov, now they look like to be clueless while handling Gusev.

At this point, I have no feeling that Gusev would return to KHL but that is also certainly an option.
