The Kings and Iafallo avoid arbitration by agreeing to a two-year contract extension that will carry an AAV of $2,425,000.
The guy voted Kings' 'Player of the Year' by fans, will hopefully continue adding to his production for the club these next couple of years after coming off a career year. He finished fourth in goals and sixth in assists for LA this past season (15 goals, 18 assists).
Here's the
highlight video that accompanied his Player of the Year nod if you haven't watched in awhile.
I like the signing. In 157 games with the Kings, Iafallo has racked up 58 points (24 goals, 34 assists) with 34 PIMs. At 25, I think he's a good fit for the direction they're moving in.
Jewels From The Crown had an interesting blurb, comparing Iafallo with Jimmy Vesey in terms of their first two years in the league, where Vesey came away with 50 points to Iafallo's 58 - pointing out that Vesey signed a two-year deal with NYR prior to last season with an AAV of $2.27M, which is very close to Iafallo's new deal.
Thought this was an interesting from JFTC, too:
"Per CapFriendly, the Kings have $9,440,606 in projected cap space, with a current roster of 21 (12 forwards, seven defensemen, two goalies). Adrian Kempe is the most prominent RFA who still needs a new contract. Matt Roy, Michael Amadio, Sheldon Rempal, Daniel Brickley, and Cal Petersen are also awaiting new deals."
From the above, what kind of deals do you think are coming?

Thank God for YouTube. Love popping on there and watching old games and VHS's that guys have posted.
I started watching
an old Kings VHS last night. Check out the passing play at the 9:25 against the Nords. Had to be on the PP, but still super nasty. The Dave Taylor and Nick Nickson skit at 13:33 rules, too - would love to get either of those two jackets Nickson is rocking. Also going to have to remember some of the shaving cream pranks for the boys in mens league. Haha.
