The Colorado Eagles, the Avalanche’s AHL affiliate, announced Friday that they’ve signed goalie Hunter Miska for the 2019-20 season.
Adam Werner, 22, will be the Eagles’ No. 1 goalie.
Miska, 24, spent the past two seasons with the AHL Tucson Roadrunners. He went 10-12-1 last season with a 3.08 goals-against average and .895 save percentage after going 22-9-0 with a 2.63 GAG and .901 save percentage as a rookie.
He played one game for the Arizona Coyotes last season, allowing one goal in 18 minutes against the Detroit Red Wings.
The 6-feet-1, 175-pound Miska is from Stacey, Minnesota. He played two seasons with the U.S. National Development Team and one year at the University of Minnesota. He had a 27-5-5 record with the Golden Gophers with a 2.20 GAG and .920 save percentage.
The 6-5, 200-pound Werner is from Mariestad, Sweden, and was the Avalanche’s fifth-round pick (No. 131) in the 2016 NHL draft. He had a 15-6-3 record, 2.02 GAG and .926 save percentage in 26 games last season for Farjestad in Sweden.
