The Oilers are amazing. I can't believe they lost the Lucic trade. You'd think they could at least manage that, but somehow the Flames are the ones who save money here and get the best player. You have to wonder at what point is McDavid just going to say &&&& it and ask for a trade?
The Oilers have always been one of my favorite teams and I hate to say this. Ryan Murray looked pretty good too last year. Wonder what the Oilers would have looked like today if they took him. Oh well. Speaking of Ryan Murray, he and David Savard might be the two most underrated defenseman in the NHL.
The Blue Jackets might have lost Duchene, Dzingle, Bobrovsky and Panarin - which is just an insane amount of talent to lose in one off-season - but they do retain one of the better blue lines in the NHL.
They have a ton of cap space, and a bunch of moveable vets. If they just punt this one year, sell their cap space, then draft an NHL ready player early next summer and then spend a crap load of the money they have available, they should be able to retool pretty quickly.
I love the risk they took by going all in too this past year. The NHL playoffs are so random, and it almost worked out.
Since we brought up Ryan Murray, he reminds me that the Coyotes should try to get my old fav Dr. Yakapov for some cheap scoring. Old Yaks could still have a successful NHL career and someone should take a chance on him.
As for today I am a little upset that my Chinese knockoff Phil Kessel jersey arrived, but is missing one of the S's. Who wants a Kesel Jersey made by Robok anyways?
Oh well! I am going to watch Demolition Man and eat pizza. If you order from Craig's Pizza you don't have to pay the tax if you say you're going to watch a Wesley Snipes movie. (Unless you say his name so that it rhymes with "Greg," then he gets mad and you have to pay double tax).
