The Predators have extended Colton Sissons to a 7-year deal. Just under 3M per. This is the epitome of what makes David Poile one of the best GMs. Sissons is a much better and much more skilled player than people think. He is capable of stepping up to a top line roll but can also excel at bottom 6 minutes. Which is rare.
You know how often prospects are not brought up because teams say the players need to play “top 6 minutes or not at all?” Sissons is the rare exception. We are talking about a player who scored a hat trick in a playoff game. And the Preds tied him up for 7 seasons for under 3 per. One of the best signings of the summer so far.
Sissons doesn't agree to this kind of a deal without a huge amount of trust in Poile and the Preds...
